10 tips for a stress-free kids photoshoot in a Delhi studio

A kids photoshoot goes well when the child is comfortable and the adults are unhurried. The studio matters less than the plan. These tips come from birthday, cake-smash and family sessions at Spettro Studios in Rajouri Garden.

1. Book after the nap, not before. Late morning or mid-afternoon slots after a sleep produce smiles; pre-nap slots produce tears.
2. Book two hours for anything involving a baby. An hour is fine for a single toddler in one outfit. Newborns, siblings and multiple outfits need breathing room.
3. Choose continuous light. Flash startles infants. LED softboxes are silent and steady.
4. Shoot the "nice" outfit first. Do the clean portraits before the cake, the paint or the bubbles.
5. Limit outfits to three. Every change costs energy and goodwill.
6. Bring the familiar toy, but keep it just out of frame. It gets the attention up and the eyes toward the camera.
